Stratos Racing Team signed with the Venezuelan rider to fight for the title of European Champion 2015 Superbike with Yamaha
Robertino Pietri, who achieved the fourth place of FIMCEV 2014, joins with the Yamaha Stratos Team as an official LS2 Helmets rider. The Venezuelan surprised last 2014 Superbike season getting four podiums, as well postulated in every race as the clear rider for the victory. The great progression of Pietri has not gone unnoticed by Team Stratos and they did not hesitate incorporating him into their team. He will fight for the championship this year leading the Yamaha R1M, in the return of the Japanese brand, to the highest competition after the World Championship.
Robertino’s experience in roadracing is very wide, taking part in championships like AMA Roadracing, Moto2 World Championship, FIM CEV Championship and some other races in WSBK.
Pietri also signed a contract to be an official LS2 Helmets and Pro Sports rider, wearing full kit protection on the new R1M. The first venture with the bike and Team Stratos will be February 27th and 28th in Jerez, Spain.
Robertino Pietri #4 @robertinopietri: “First of all I´m so grateful to Yamaha and Team Stratos for giving me this great opportunity. Last year I was competitive throughout the year, and this season I believe I have the right bike in the R1M and the support from the team to take it to the next level and fight for winning the races and the championship. We know it´s a very competitive championship with very fast rivals, but the team and I are also very motivated, so we will give our best every weekend. I’m willing to start riding at Jerez with the team.”
Ricard Jové (Team Manager): “I take this opportunity, on behalf of the entire staff of Team Stratos to publicly welcome Robertino to our team and to say thank you for trusting the project. This is a brave, ambitious bet, since the support of Yamaha and its spectacular R1M, we know we have to keep the bar as high as last season and improve it. Robertino combines something that not everyone has: a vast experience for his age, an ambition that will give you great projection in the panorama of SBK and a kind and modest character that will certainly allow him to develop and grow as a professional rider. We firmly believe that this may be his greatest season and from Stratos Team we will put all our effort to help him grow and achieve the desired results.”
